WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Boneless Children Foundation - Beekeeper

Posted about 1 year ago
So, we have another exciting and thrilling rock show in Oakland on Friday, 4/18. My sister's birthday! Exciting times. At the Stork Club - 2330 Telegraph Ave, in case you're local! With 2 other good acts - The Faulty Plum and Maya Dorn. Flyer attached.
And so I wanted to share more music because eventually of course I will get the entire album up here. But I'm going slow on it. Titrating it in. But if you just want to GO FOR IT then wander over here:

So this one is called Beekeeper. And it's a song I've had laying around for a while, and an older version of it is notable in that it prompted a woman from Scotland to write to me telling me that she loved the song so much that she was dancing in her Great British pants (for you americans: "Panties") to the song. Delightful. Would that it were always true. Of course, no photos were provided, but I'm willing to take such a report on faith. I'm one of the faithful in such cases. Although of course evidence is appreciated. Call me.
Anyway, back to the song. So, it's a cross between... I'm not sure. Maybe a more driving version of a "Marquee Moon" era Television song and a "Lust For Life" era Iggy Pop song? Or something. I sometimes hear something kind of "80's" in there too, but what the hell do I know; I just wrote the song. Seriously - you never know what you just did until someone else hears it and reflects it back to you.
So, I hope you enjoy. It's about a lot of things, but mostly it's a really fun song to play. And to dance around in your panties to. Or in my case my "manties," I guess. Man-panties. Ok, I apologize for that; I dislike the "Man"-ization of things. Like "Bromance" - I honestly saw some news program going on about how amongst men it is more acceptable these days to go out & hang out just them, & it's being termed a "Bromance." That. Is. So. Stupid. "Bromance" is a word that, first, is awful. And second, if it would describe something it'd be two straight guys who are friends & start developing romantic feelings for one another. Which is fine; people should get to be who they are, date whomever they wish, and so forth. But the news people - they just like those compartmentalizing stories. Guys do this. Girls do this. NOW guys do this. And now girls do THAT. It stabs me in the face with awfulness.
Anyway, my charming aside notwithstanding, please enjoy the song. It is called "Beekeeper," it is by my rock band "The Boneless Children Foundation," and we are playing a rock show on 4/18 in Oakland. Hope to see you there.
