No lie. Tom Waits just released this important press conference in what appears to be designed as a video for youtube release, spread virally through the tentacles of the interweb....
ha! i wonder what he thinks about all those new scarlett johansen songs? wait, that reminds me....i don't know what i think of them either. haven't really heard them yet. kind of don't want to.
Btw, I don't think you can really take what Tom says seriously. Sure he's a way talented artist but he also seems to like to put on facades & keep his audience guessing from what I've seen over the years.
To Augusts: I read an article on a musician some years ago who was working with Waits. This guy opened himself up on stage in a very naked way. After watching him perform, Waits said words to the effect, 'Are you sure you want to show people who you really are? That can gte you hurt.'
i can guarantee that if he dated my mom....homeboy did not get laid. honestly, i have NEVER understood this dude, his talent, or anyone who thinks he's good live.
Incredible in that way that only Tom Waits can manage!
I know I heard this somewhere else...Oh wait, it was my post:

good question! i wonder too.
why isn't he playing in california????? his home town. wahhahahhah
...and a good actor as well.
Haha that was rich. In the 12 years I've lived here I haven't seen him perform locally in Sonoma County. Not sure why that is though.
Hmmm... Phoenix isn't too far from where I live... and that concert is right after my high school graduation.
I sense an epic road trip in the near future...
Speechless with wonder and awe. The record player at the end is just perfect.

Tom is a pure American classic. Has anyone ever heard him perform "Hi-Ho"? A complete 180 from "Martha".
