is anyone else out there as addicted to this record as me? look at my widgets. i'm devastated by this record. can't stop playing it. just sooooo good. i think after 20 or so plays, i can now safely say, it's their best. (and roots come alive - up there)i am the worst of music abusers. i play the shit out of something until the bits wear out. lots of blurry, mangled ones and zeros left in my music dust.

  1. kb says dag. this review does not help the fact that this album is literally next on my "to-buy" list.

  2. dennis says Thanks. At least I don't have to worry that it's another letdown, how when you just snap something up by the name, and you go: "Uhm...." "..." "O.K. I'll try to play this again" meanwhile trying to tell yourself that you like it, when you really know you don't. End of tangent. I'm scooping it up o on wax. If it's whack, I'm sending BIg Tony out to collect thumbs. Kidding with the thumbs thing.

  3. steve simon says it just came in the mail today P.S. post a photo of that annie Roots shot you have been raving about

  4. SWozniak says Shit, and here I was content with Things Fall Apart. Your ranting and raving about this and Modern Times are going to force me to go back to the record store AGAIN. I go there more than Mass. I think my priorities are screwy.

  5. patthinker says I'll check it out eventually. I really only know The Roots from that 'Seed' song, but I know they're one of the few (sadly) hip-hop acts around with any credibility.

  6. Anonymous says I bought the album a week or so ago. I've listened to it a few times since then. I'm really liking it. It's a lot different than most rap.

  8. lemontwist says I've been meaning to check it out since I bought Take It There from iTunes. Like Amy said, the song was different than most rap and piqued my interest. Which is good, my tastes need to branch out. Thanks for the rave review, I'll have to check it out! :)

  10. wassonii says the cohesion of thought and words as a part of the musical ensemble are brilliant. guaranteed to shake your ass, make you think, and get upset when the damned thing ends. hip-hop at its finest.
