It’s my Mogiversary – I am now ONE in Mog Years!
L'il Darmuzz All in all, I feel very humbled by the fine company I keep here at Mog. I will perpetually be a musical toddler…y’all know that my musical tastes are wide-ranging and quite appalling really. While you have expanded my horizons and introduced me to all sorts of new music, I still have an innate preference for punk, metal, hardcore and – gulp – emo, which you have not yet managed to exorcise! But now I have more than a passing acquaintance with indie-world.Before Mog, I spent the previous year trolling for new music by reading Under the Radar, Exclaim! and AP magazines, listening to bands on their own websites and MySpace, and checking the details at allmusic.com. Fortunately I never got into Pitchfork :) Since then, Mog has become my homepage, my daily first stop on the web, and my only stop if I’m in a rush!I would like to apologize to the Moggers whom I didn’t add as my Trusteds because I was too intimidated by your uber-popularity, and I was certain you would never take any notice of me. There are still a few of you out there, heh! I would like to thank all of the fine folks who welcomed me when I was even more of a newbie, like dj ivi and Sturgell, who are not nearly as bot-like as MySpace Tom. And above all, my best regards to David Hyman for building and funding this place and keeping it afloat, even when we are whiny ingrates. I love you, Mog!
