Vacation songs! (no Barry Manilow in this one Turd)

Posted over 1 year ago

So tonight at midnight I'll be heading out to the West coast of washington for a couple days of adventure camping, followed by a couple days of more cosmopolitin activities in seattle. So in honor of my first paid vacation in two years I'm listening to vacation music today. I'll add songs in the comment thread as I think of them. I think I'll Kick things off with Camper Van Beethoven! I'm not sure why this is a vacation song for me but it is, it calls to mind endless summer slacking!

The Plan is to drive way out on the Olympic peninsula till the road stops at the edge of the Olimpic national park. ( the coastline sliver if anyone is following on a map) Then we'll hike three miles in to the beach and wander around till we find a good camping spot. This beach is near shipping lanes and is known for the stuff that washes up on it so My plan is to hang out and build a Swiss Family Robinson style castaway castle sans exploding coconuts. My Uncle's much more industrious and ,I think, foolhardy plan is to do a sixteen mile (round trip) hike up to some norweigon memorial Thus paying homige to our norse ancestors (or somthing like that. I just hope that this endeavor dosn't end with a ride in a hilocoptor followed by a week spent in an ICU unit. Cuz that'd kinda harsh my mellow.

Hell no! If I hear a peep out of barry I'm turning this car around and were going home!  Being single I get to DJ my own life and am not at the mercy of anothers whims. Course being single sex on the beach is likely to be just a drink this trip.

How very odd; some of these vacation songs are depressing! OK, here's a group that would put some spice into Barry Manilow, if that NYC kid ever went near Cajun country.
