Gone Swimming!

Posted almost 2 years ago

Today is the hottest day of the year so far so I've decided that instead of hanging out in my house I'm gonna go out swimming in the river. So for those of you who have to work or have decided to hole up in your houses and hug the A/C heres some Island sun to maybe motivate you to go outside or failing that to make yourselves a fruity drink with an umbrella in it! Cheers Mog I'm off to get even more color on my quickly fading vampiric pallor.

Sorry to hear that. Our sun could fry eggs on the dash of a hybrid right now. If I could figure out how to I'd share some!

I spent this gorgeous PNW summer day walking around Seattle with my daughter, drinking iced tea (ok, I did have a margarita with lunch) and trying on expensive but awesome shoes.  If only I could have added swimming, it would have been perfect.

My family dipped out on me so I ended up swimming alone but there's somthing to be said for being alone in the woods. While I was laying out on a sand bar I became aware of a presence. I looked up an saw her, young, tan, graceful. She was watching me intently and hesitently moved toward the water as tho shyly asking permission. I moved away to give her space, hoping that she wouldent run away. I lurked down stream about 50 feet watching as she stepped in and bowed her head to drink. I inadvetantly made a sudden move swatting a dragonfly from infront of my face. Startled she looked up and gave a sort of coughing bark! Feeling somwhat reproached I sat quietly and watched debateing weather or not she'd hang out long enough for me to retreive my camera from my pack. After about 15 minuites of curious standoff I slowly headed for shore Intent on getting a photo. Sadly as I reached my bag she dissapeared amongst the reeds. Still we had a moment, deer are so cool!

I embrace my extreme fair skin.  Since I just burn, peel, repeat, I've had to come to terms with what genetics handed me

I'm not genetically fair skinned tho, i gain mine by working nights sleeping days and staying inside alot of the time. Anyway fair skin is hot on girls, not so much on guys. LOL

I like how your deer story sounded (at least at the begining) like a letter to Penthouse. I can almost hear that sexy coughing bark in my head now, lol.

Glad you were able to take advantage of your good weather. I'm hoping for some good weather this coming extra-long weekend (I have from Thursday to Tuesday off). Maybe I'll talk some friends into taking a raft down the river, it's been years since I've done that.
