WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

my triumphant return to mog

Posted about 1 year ago

well it's been awhile since my last post

so I gotta update all thats been going on as short hand as possible.

so I moved out of my apartment, into my uncle's house. I still haven't gotten my pc hooked up to the internet yet so I'm stuck with my laptop for now. and last friday I got an atom bomb dropped on me. Apparently the current state of the stock market has caused my company some concern. in fact they were so concerned they are laying off 2 thirds of their salaried workforce on oct.25th yes this includes me!. I'd be pissed but this ship seems to be sinking anyway so this rat is gonna swim to higher ground then sit on the beach with a bottle of rum and watch the poor fools left on board bail for all theyre worth. other neat little things happened last night My company credit card has been shut off so when I tried to fill my gas tank so I could go to work it was declined. I called my boss for direction and the bastard tried to fire me. I sent off some quick e-mail and made some threats and this morning HR made him keep me. see I gotta finish my two weeks out ands get honorably laid off in order to collect about $800 of vacation pay so I'm in it till it's over. anyway I'm supposed to be sleeping right now cause I gotta leave for work about 2am tomorrow morning. so for all my mog's here's KILLSWITCH ENGAGE with their cover of holy diver! rock on dudes

nothing is playin dude! I will check later, hey, keep that spirit, don't let it rock you.. we are here for  you.. I have always believed in the saying,  "When one door closes another opens in our lives, we just need to be looking for the other door". That said, what the f... is goin on with this country, everyone is panicing.. like we really don't know what all the effects are but at the same time, isn't a lot of what is happening near jerk reactions that may or may not be reasonable for the health of the company let alone the economy.. that is the real reason we go into a depression, its all percieved rather than real.. from what I have seen. There is going to be tough times but you know maybe we need a little shaking up here hey?

    Cheers,

Keep your chin up, JL. And celebrate! You're gunna get another job that doesn't jerk you around with company credit cards! Yeeeey!

Totally right Indiana. If everyone in this country would just calm down and let the stockmarket storm blow over, it would settle down and go back to normal. But is anyone going to settle down? Ha! They are all like chicken little running around, "the sky is falling!" Honestly, I think they just WANT the market to crash to give them some sense of adventure and meaning in their lives. Fight Club had a point... we are a generation that had no great war, no great depression, no great triumph, no great anything. So people secretly want some huge disaster to befall them so they can pat themselves on the back and feel like their lives had a place in history.

Annnnd the market just went up 1,000 points. Perhaps too late to help you. I've been laid off/fired and the one piece of advice coming from a woman I knew in Personnel was: "it's hard to believe now, but in a few months you'll look back and say this was a blessing. It takes you out of a bad situation and lets you readjust your life so you're happier". And damn if she wasn't right!

These are really shitty times :(

However..." this ship seems to be sinking anyway so this rat is gonna swim to higher ground then sit on the beach with a bottle of rum and watch the poor fools left on board bail for all theyre worth" this is the perfect attitude, I'm really glad you got it down to an art.

Here's to you and yours, man. Keep rocking.

I refuse to dwell on what has been choosing instead to anticipate what will be. every change is an oppertunity and trajidy doubly so. but I wax poetic and slightly zen. I already got things on line for another Job and I was sick of the old one so I'm not sad to see it go. thank you all for your support Now where's my boy tyler!? Don't tell me Home depot killed his career too!
