Five finger death punch fulfill a metal tradition

Posted about 1 month ago

Ever since metallica covered turn the page metal bands everywhere are looking to the 80's for songs they can cover. weather it's Dope with turn me right round, or Disturbed with shout. Now Five finger death punch have joined their predasessors with their cover of Bad company. This track made me laugh. it's such a strech so unevan even in its origional version that any attempt to update it is even more uneven and choppy. this should be saved for toxic tuesday but I couldent wait. also I already have a pretty toxic track set aside for tuesday. so heres five finger death punch attempting to be deep. Laugh to your hearts content.

This could also fall under 'Sunday Under the Covers'. I don't know, I kinda like this version of the song. Well, up till the speaking part in the middle. That was a bit much. I'm still a little shaky on this 'Toxic Tuesday'. This is for bad songs primarily from the 90's was it? Or is it just bad songs in general. Or is it more specifically songs that are bad but we like anyways?

Well according to Mike the Knife (the origionator of toxic tuesday) it's bad songs in genral the worse the better and it dosn't really matter if you like them or not as long as you can stand to make fun of them. ever watch that show that used to be on the sci fi channel called mystery science theatre 3000? It's where a couple robots and a human watch old sci fi and horror flicks and make fun of them. This is kinda the same thing only with songs.

as for ffdp I felt like they oversimplified that track and ya gotta admit it dosn't exactly flow. even in the origional version. Thats one of those I thought was a good idea badly done. of course it's hard to make the words bad company ryme and flow smoothly for any length of time.

MST3K? I friggin' love that show.

Thanks for clearing things up for me. When I first saw 'Toxic' posts popping up I thought it had something to do with the genre and theme rather than quality.

Have you seen Sergio's White Hot Top 5 on Current?
He makes comentary on top music from itunes, MTV and youtube. Pretty funny stuff.

Back to ffdp, I can see what you're saying about the flow being off. The transition from soft to hard music is a little abrupt and jarring.

Havn't heard of or seen sergio's top five. My uncle cut the cable down to it's absolute minimum so I don't get hardly any channels any more. I'm stuck watching pbs and discovery and a couple local news channels. Hence all the mogging I've been doing.

You can watch all of current's programming on the web (which is what I do every Thursday and Friday). If you're board, give it a watch.

I think they might be an American-only channel actually. I can't even remember how I stumbled on the site... most likely I literally stumbled on the site using the stubleupon add-on for firefox. That's another good time-waster.

Hmm I just had a brain wave that I think i'm gonna transferr to the mogpeeps site. I wanna start a group called the hecklers. what will happen is we'll post a pic a clip or anything really and open it up to be heckled. Say for example that annoying levi's jean commercial where it's just some dude talking about america and a bunch of uberartsey black and white shots ending with the word america in black and white lights.  crap crap crap! CRAP! anyway I could do five minuites of stand up about that peice of shit.
