WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Best rock album this year? So far yes...

Posted over 3 years ago
Dirty Pretty Thing's latest album - Waterloo to Anywhere - could be the best rock album to show up on the stage in quite some time. Tracks like Gin and Milk - which manages to snarl "No one gives a fuck about the values I would die for" and then two breaths later follows it up with "No one gives two fucks about the values I would kill for/ Give them something to die for" and yet somehow doesn't loose credibility or edge with lyrics that could easily come off as self-serving hyperbole from some other band that was a little less angry. Follow that up with tracks like "Bang Bang, your dead" - that manage to skirt both pop and punk while not falling to the cliches of either genre ... at least not in a manner that is either unforgivable or annoying.
