Rabbit Habits is a wonderful step in the evolution of this amazing band. It is, like Six Demon Bag, a step into the past, as is shown by the soulful violin in Jackie. But there is a crisper, cleaner sound about the band. Don't worry, Honus Honus's voice is just as scratchy and tortured as ever, and the percussion is pure vintage pots and pans. They have been able to somehow remain both lo-fi and hi-fi. You don't find as much 'noise' on this album (which is normally part of the beauty of this band), but their distinct sound does not suffer.
And if you can't find the beauty in this album, you haven't realized you are as crazy as them yet. We all are.

Oh, I love Man Man, but I haven't heard the new one yet. You like it as much as Six Demon Bag? I think the first one is still my favorite.

I saw that they'd sold out the Bowery weeks ahead...glad to see those guys doing well. Though the fact that they're on Anti- probably means I'll have to buy the record.

I'm a new fan. Heard a track through Paste Magazine, checked out their myspace and fell head over heels. I listned to the new one last night on Rhapsody; it's really good. I'll definitely get it as soon as I reasonably can. Nice post.
