Are you going classy on us?.... j/k, don't mind a classic flavour, if I may say so :)

After seeing "Amadeus" as a kid I started listening to "classical" music. Beethovens "9th Symphony" is like Nirvana's "Nevermind", most everybody has heard of it. But recently I discovered that there's nothing better than a little Chopin or Vivaldi while driving the car around.

Your not on strike like everybody else?

It's a cliche, but these two compositions are amongst my favourite ones:

So much agony and desperation in the first one, and such unspeakable sorrow in the second one...

Nope, I'm not on strike.

The last 20 mins of Requiem For A Dream are so hard to watch. You are a very dark girl aren't you? Do you wear black on the outside because black is how you feel on the inside? :)

A little Ode to Joy, nice. :) Please tell me you've seen Immortal Beloved?

It's kind of serendipitous you post this, because I've been thinking about posting some classical stuff while the peeps are out ... there's a lot of good out there.

As for Chopin, I love this one, brings back a lot of memories for me. Nice for the evening hours (as the name would indicate) which are upon us soon (or already, for you). Cheers David!

Chopin, "Nocturne in E Flat minor"

hmmm, there appears to be a bug in the first part of that track ... wait until about 25 seconds in and it'll start into the one I wanted (about 3:30) long.

goodmusiconly, that Chopin is nummy.

Bernstein does a pretty good job with that monumental work. Great post, dachmo.

Here's Pete Seeger playing the Chorale from it. It's from his 1955 album Goofing Off Suite.
