180 Beats Per Minute

If there was any music that had the ability to make you feel high it would have to be Drum'n'Bass, I'm sure there's many other genres that have that effect but back in the mid '90s guys like Roni Size, Amon Tobin & Squarepusher were my addiction. I was recently revisiting some drum'n'bass courtesy of an old friend in San Fransisco when he told me to check out some High Contrast. After a quick search and an eMusic download BAM! It's Back! A Welsh native, Lincoln Barrett, is the guy behind the beats. He recorded his first album, "True Colours" at the age of 22 in 2002 and is still recording with a new album out earlier this year.
I'm not saying this is the greatest music in the world, (cause it's not) it's just that for me it has it's time and place. (I'd also like to add that it sounds better pulsing through headphones while riding the NYC subway system then it does coming from my car stereo while waiting to turn into Trader Joe's parking lot. Times, they sure do change!

(I'd also like to add that it sounds better pulsing through headphones while riding the NYC subway system I could so see that with this song, I would have to think it would be even better late at night
good to know what will be on my playlist next subway ride :)_
I dunno, it's soundin' pretty smokin' coming from the laptop speakers as I prepare to work.
Still working Dale? Saturday night? Do your poor children even see you anymore?
loving this, subway, traders, laptop, or other. definitely great while driving in the dark across a well-lit bridge. thanks for posting it.
i never really got into dnb stuff, its just wayy too fast. but ya, time and place.
Bah, I start work at 10PM tonight, so I've already tucked them into bed. Besides, I work from home, so even if I did work all day, they'd still see me. :)
Sweet job! I need to get me one of those!
This usually isn't my style, but I can see where the right time and place would make it rock. If I were out with friends, hopping from place to place, a fair amount of alcohol in my system . . . yeah. This would do nicely.
Sounds like 90 bpm to me. ;P
Damn, I want to breakdance now. Or maybe I'll just try to groove while staying firmly implanted in my computer chair.
Either way, thanks for waking me up!
Quite some time since I listened to some D'b'B. We just got or American housemate hooked on a Drum'n'Bass version of a Prodigy track from Pendulum, that they played in a bar around here the other night. I love England for its Drum'n'Bass background. I ofen have the feeling here, that I musically moved home, though I actually it#s geographically vice versa.
