  1. dachmo says I believe Louis XIV was listening to this when they wrote the above song. Sparks - "I Predict" - 1982 What do you think?

  3. I am says Great track though, Whats that thin guitar part? Is that the end or something else? Do you have any Plasmatics?

  4. Misstee says hmmm....i never liked Louis XIV anyway but the Sparks song is ripe for a mash-up!

  5. dachmo says **misstee** wow, that surprises me. I think they're a real find. **I Am** no plasmatics here and that is just an odd tack on to the song, I don't see how it fits entirely either.

  6. goodmusiconly says perhaps, perhaps, perhaps... (thanks, cake) "You're gonna eat a bowl of chow mein And be hungry real soon" hahahaha ... gotta love the thinly veiled metaphors.

  7. Bartleby says The Sparks make for a palatable meal of chow mein as goodmusic so aptly said. Dach, ignorance is bliss - if you only know Louis XIV and never heard of the Sparks (or this particular track), to you they'll be the real thing. (What's the difference between Doppelgängers and Dead-ringers?)

  8. dachmo says I was just remarking, I wasn't planning on blowing the lid off the industry. Upon repeated listenings I can't even hear much of the original similarities I first heard, there is a bit but... _(What's the difference between Doppelgängers and Dead-ringers?)_ Is this a joke or a serious question? I'd love to hear the punchline if there is one.

  9. Anna says You are right on money, D. What stops me from liking Louis XIV a lot are their lyrics. They always sound sexist to me.

  10. Bartleby says No puns on the Doppelgängers and Dead-ringers, just a matter of national preference...

  11. dachmo says If you asked the average American to come up with a definition for either you'd probably get a lot of blank stares. But I would think the term dead-ringer is more widely known. Honestly, both expressions get used just as often, if at all.
