WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Like Tomato Soup and A Grilled Cheese Sandwich.

Posted over 2 years ago
I've grown tired of all these new bands I've been listening to. I'm always searching for that sound that'll make me feel like I did when I first "Discovered" these guys. Are there recovery groups for music addicts? I hope not.

  4. bloodtea says Guess there's no such thing as that, but you can always start a group... Btw, be a dear and pass me the grilled cheese sandwich!

  5. dachmo says Music is one high I don't mind chasing down. I just have to remember who to go to to get the good stuff. I have to run out and get more cheese and more bread, it looks like it's going to be a long night.

  6. bloodtea says great, while you're out buy me a coffee and a bag of marshmallows... please (sad needy cat look)

  7. dachmo says Fine, I'm going to get another bottle of wine and some dvd's I'll be back in a little while. Could you make the bed?

  8. brendanhalpin says I hear ya-- music you discover later in life never quite packs the same punch as stuff you get into when you're younger.
    Permalink posted 11/04/2007
  9. bloodtea says Yeah sure whatever :)

  10. dachmo says **Brendan** Every once in awhile something hits me like it did when I was a kid but lately it's getting few and far between. I can't even think of any at this particular moment.

  11. Girlcrawl says Any grilled cheese sandwichs left - all this MOG effort (too many great posts to read) has depleted my energy reserve. Fabulous photo and, of course, track. Seems I've been craving favourite music from past days too; alot of the recent 'new and fresh' releases just have not proven very scintillating after an initial listen. What dvd's did you choose for all of us this evening? Yes, prepare for company. :-)

  12. dachmo says Oh no! Now I have to pick up around the place. The wine is mine B.Y.O. sorry!

  13. Girlcrawl says Cool; I'm bringing one of these: Lots of these: And a friend; she's single!

  14. El Corazon Sangrante says To this day, I still LOVE grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup!!!! The BEST!!!

  15. bloodtea says Hey... what a nice little pizza you've got there... hmmmm...

  16. dachmo says **El C** I didn't discover the combo until I was about 29 so I missed out all those memories. I don't know what my Mom was thinking. **Girl** Moretti is some good stuff. As for your friend it's a shame she's not a double!

  17. Girlcrawl says bloodtea - Freshly prepared nonetheless. :-) dachmo - 'Good stuff' indeed; think I probably held stock in the company at one point, or should have given the vast quantities of Moretti beer that I managed to consume. Should have clarified: the friend is for you! You want two of them aye?

  18. dachmo says I'd have to be twice as charming then, that's a lot of work. I'm not one to pass on charity though.
    Permalink posted 11/04/2007
  19. Girlcrawl says Ha! Am certain that you are not in need of such 'charity', but when it's that appealing why pass indeed. :-)

  20. 2Serenity says Wow..they are pretty good! I was over on FUZZ today [www.fuzz.com] and heard some great music from some unsigned bands. You may want to check over there too. I am going through my ambient stage but if I wanna rock it is a cross between Nirvana, Guns and Roses and Aerosmith. I just have enjoyed them for a long time. And, I CRIED when Kurt Cobain died. I will never forget that day.

  21. Misstee says I'm glad i'm not alone in my fruitless search for new music...I thought it was just me. If you are in Los Angeles go for the In'n'Out grilled cheese animal style no pickle or lettuce.

  22. contrabandwidth says Man you gotta try that Wolfgang Puck Tomato Soup with a grilled swiss cheese sandwhich. Soo good. I definitely discovered The Jam "later" (in my 20's) but I love how tight and too the point their style is. Such a great energy. Sometimes you see it come through in new bands, but it definitely has to be something special, we're all so jaded.

  23. walkingthecow says the jam rocks! my wife just had a grilled cheese sandwich on saturday...it was quite good as i ate half of it!

  24. dachmo says Grilled Swiss on rye is me favorite...Wolfgang Puck tomato soup? sounds Good! **Misstee** There's no In'n'Out burger in NYC that you know of do you? I'm always hearing about how good the place is.

  25. 2Serenity says There is a place called Big Nics that is EXCELLENT for burgers in NYC city. I go there often. http://bignicksnyc.com/ In fact, I may just order my lunch from there today! [^_^]

  26. Sturgell says When we were kids, my sister would give me a hard time about eating Tomato Soup. I think what it was is that she knew how much I loved it and didn't like seeing me happy. She'd say "How can you eat that stuff? That's the stuff they scrape off the bottom of the tomato truck. Your gross!" Albeit, my passion for Tomato Soup has never wavered.

  27. dachmo says Is that how they make Tomato Soup? I never knew.
    Permalink posted 11/05/2007
  28. Misstee says Unfortunately no In'n'Out burger in NYC though there was a rumor going around that they were going to install an outlet here on the East Coast. Though a good grilled cheese on challah with tomato from Vynl can suffice....

  29. ZenPop says I've met some pretty cool musicians in my day... but one of the absolute highlights was meeting Mr. Weller & Co. at Tower Records in Los Angeles during The Gift Tour.... The Jam were a brilliant band... MAJOR PROPS for posting this!
