I almost forgot about this one...

While doing some research on the clown in my Avatar (I never did see the movie and Steven King never did "it":http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohDEd14_NUo for me) I found an odd video incorporating this song of which I haven't heard in probably 20 years. "by Chris Woodstra for allmusic.com":http://wm10.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=11:0xfexqlgldse~T1Phil Judd was a founding member and major creative force behind the early incarnation of Split Enz. Judd left the band in February of 1977, rejoining a year later, only to leave shortly after, finding himself unable to fit into the new direction of the band. In June of 1978, he joined the New Zealand punk band Suburban Reptiles as a part-time member. When the band broke up a couple of months later, he had a short stint with the legendary Enemy (who later became Toy Love).Obviously inspired by the punk movement, Judd left behind all of the art excesses he had become know for in Split Enz and formed Swingers in late 1978, a no-frills, no-image, straightforward power trio, with Dwayne "Bones" Hillman (bass) and Buster Stiggs (drums) -- both formerly of Suburban Reptiles.

  6. brendanhalpin says I think this band had a couple of songs on the soundtrack to Starstruck, an Australian movie I loved as a teen. Saw it recently and was a bit baffled as to why I had loved it so (I think it probably had to do with the female lead and her toplessness, which was about all a movie needed when I was fifteen) , but I still have the soundtrack.

  7. Misstee says Brendan - the same thing happened to me! I loved this movie when i was a kid but also saw it recently and couldn't grasp how I loved it so. Felt the same about 'Diva'. But still love this song(plus the dancing and the 'roo costume) - thanks for the reminder...

  8. dachmo says Yes I did read that they were apart of that movie to the point of actually being in it as well as scoring it. I don't remember the movie...alright I just checked out a clip on YouTube and it looks somewhat embarrassing although within the 5+min clip I did get to see a rather nice pair of breasticules so I'm sure at the age of 15 this would've been on my "favorite" list as well and no, I still don't remember ever seeing it.

  16. scotfree says Just love it Dach! It's just as you say, no image can create a lot of freedom, eh? You can hear the echoes of Split Enz here, but also Talking Heads and maybe any other early new wave band. Hell, I'm even picking up a bit of PIL - this is great! Thanks!!

  17. Anna says It's either bartleby or Sam, not sure. One of them left an open html italics tag. Let me try once more.
