ITV Chart Shows on YouTube

Posted over 4 years ago
While looking for the video to this song I found a YouTubers page filled with these 6min clips of something called **ITV Chart Shows** from 1989-1994, obviously British, these clips seem to give you a weekly update of the Top 10 Indie videos and Rock videos from back in the day. A pretty good research tool if your needing to look back on bands from that time. I found it informative and thought one of you may as well. Check it out here: "ITV Chart Shows":http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?search_query=&user=23Daves&page=1

  2. chandlersford says Aha you see! us Brits aren't just good at starting Christian crusades, bashing the bosh, invading anywhere on earth we can travel to in comfort or taking afternoon tea whilst watching cricket don't ya know! we also have some of the finest culture TV (or had) while we were wee nippers! I used to watch these each week and yes they were great (mostly) and a good way to catch up on what was what in the official chart land. Glad to see youtube is one of the most valuable cultural archiving tools for pop culture yet again - long may it be sought by the christian crusade of BPI, and all the other phonographic industry parasites seeking the head of access to music they can't be arsed to release but don't want anyone else to see or hear. Nice one Dachmo!

  4. Max Load says Indeed. Fast forward the Bob Geldoff intro on this for Frankie Goes to Hollywood on the Tub, before Trevor Horn got his hands on them.

  7. chandlersford says Absolutely! But then the tube wasn't about charts thank god! and it paved the way for Jools to be on 'later'. it also spawned the likes of Terry fucking christian and the word! but the less said about that the better. Good clip Neill! I think! What have we got now? 109 channels of shit and no decent music weekly! Ah nostalgia isn't what it used to be...
