Gearhead. Does anyone listen to cable radio?

Posted over 5 years ago
Does anyone listen to digital cable radio? or Satellite Radio; Delphi Satellite Radio; Xm Radio; Sirius Satellite Radio? Do you like it? Love it?Ive got Time Warner digital cable in my house in Austin, Texas. I just installed my dope HD home theater surround sound system. I skipped the satellite get up with the dish and all.I programmed all the cool cable music stations, so that when i want to listen to commercial free programming, i just turn on the system without the TV and the digital hd sound quality comes through my new dope home theater system.I also have airtunes, so i can stream music from Itunes and internet radio as well.It rocks.Im just curious what gear people are rockin' and care to pimp.

  1. ch33v3rs says I do the same... I have Comcast cable in the Bay Area and love the selection of chanels. I don't think that I have ever listened to the radio at home. Does your cable radio give you pop-up video style factoids about what is playing? Mine does, I love knowing other things about an artist other than what is said in the song and the liner notes. I have my computer hooked up to my DJ set up, so if it on my computer or the web I make it knock so hard that the pictures on my upstairs neighbors walls fall off!!!! pure niceness > KIARAN

  2. Kid Charming says A few years ago, back before the radio became digital-only, I listened to it a fair amount on Time Warner. I liked it, but the playlists were a bit too small. I assume that's not longer an issue. These days, though, I'm more into internet radio. There are some sweet stations out there.

  4. dachis says my cable doesnt do the pop up thing, i think... mostly because i listen to cable radio with the TV off... also do a lot of internet radio... i too am a sirius subscriber in New York, but for some reason havent gotten into it 1000%... truth be told, there isnt a be all end all solution that puts all others to shame... it seems to be a personal choice... and for what its worth, i like it that way. technocratic...

  6. Lester Jonze says I have the whole cable radio set up going on, and love it totally. I also subscribe to XM and can't get enough of it. Well, sometimes enough. Sometimes it's too much music, if there is a such thing.
