WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Boiled in Lead -25th Anniversary

Posted about 1 year ago
I know I haven't posted in a while but I had to after hearing this CD. I moved to Minneapolis/St. Paul in 1986 from Detriot and one of the first bands I fell in love with was BiL thier album "From the Ladle to the Grave" is a punk/Irish/world music classic. They are a Twin Cities band, however for many years they have only performed on St Patricks Day at the 1st Ave.This sees the return of the original line up plus Dean Magraw. They were always a group you would see to get up and dance with.I've included a Fist Ave appearance on st Patricks Day from 2006.

  1. Cody B says I never got to see 'em in my Twin Cities time, so thanks for this. Looks like we were in the cities at the same time. I think I was there til '88..spent a whole lot of time at First Ave,too. Cheers.

  2. tjayfowler says I, too, came from The Cities. I saw these guys a few times at the Entry - and around the same time a whole lot of Souled American -- even saw 'em together once. One-two punch of keltic-punk and alt-before-there-was-alt-country-country. I first heard BIl because my girlfriend at the time was an intern at Twin/Tone (they distributed one of the first LPs) and brought home the promo LP. I remember being totally confused because they were all at once not at all MPLS rock, and yet they were. Thanks for the reminder.
