I bought this on vinyl 40 years on. It is amazing to hear it again now. I have been listening this all week ....can't believe how great his voice still sounds.

Yes. The man still has it.....I think he's come to a better understanding of some of his own songs. Much like Dylan, Van keeps finding new paths, new perspectives, within his own works & it keeps the essence of his oeuvre vital & alive.

Tickets announced for public sale for Berkeley's Greek Theater for a gig in early May. Record sounds great, and the man does have some interesting things to say. Acoustics at the Greek can be okay--John Mellencamp and Lucinda Williams were loud and clear, Massive Attack loud as hell, not clear. Small venue, so if you want it, better camp on APE or the evil Ticketmaster first thing Sunday.
I WAS there. He was a soaring sorcerer..........I was OUT there.....ecstatic in seeing the man ON....doing my favorite music of all time....transcending it...taking it to new places.
