dear december, deliver me songs and snow

Posted over 5 years ago
it's the first of december and my first mog post.also it is unseasonably warm here in new york.today i bought a record i've been looking for for a while,"johnny cash at folsom prison", at a thrift store for one dollar.actually, what i found was a columbia records re-release of "folsom prison" & "san quentin" together as a two-vinyl package.[originally released separately as CS9639 and CS 9827.]i'm not going to write a thorough review, because i'm sure everyone [if anyone] readingthis has heard at least "folsom", if not both. and because i'm not too good at that sort of thing. i'm not a music authority, just simply an avid listener.i prefer the recording from folsom over the san quentin one, however the latter does have its highlights, including a story and song about being arrested in starkville for picking flowers ("starkville city jail").johnny cash's banter and the enthusiasm of the prisoners makes these albums more compelling than the average live album.definitely a dollar well spent.
