Muxtape
I just got word of this little site that is a hold out for some of us stalwarts that, even in the digital age, still prefer the term "Mix Tape".
This site called Muxtape allows users to upload up to 12 songs and share their mixtapes.
My initial take on this so far? It's got a nice clean and simple interface, and is easy to use. It takes the Google approach and doesn't muck up the UI with popups and banner ads. The uploads are a bit slow, and there doesn't seem to be anyway to embed a playlist, or allow others to download it, for that matter. This might strictly be a Cover Our Ass move on their part though. The site is a little slow in general, but that could be due to user activity.

Oh dude you totally scooped me. I was going to post on this today too but I had to wait until after lunch. Here's my muxtape. All the songs are short around 1:22 long. I have a feeling if I live to be an old man, I'll probably still be referring to "mixed tapes" when I talk to people about music. I'll have to go have a look at this muxtape site.

what's weird is for some reason i loved the physicality of the mixtape almost as much as the music within. like with the ducktape and marker for the 'creative' title. or the physical experience of waiting on the radio for a good song, clicking record, and forcing the radio and the recorder as close together as they can be. And then relishing the rustle in the background that was inevitable. Made the music human :)
