Robert Wyatt - Making Musical Mastery Out of Tradgedy

After former Soft Machine drummer, Robert Wyatt fell out of a third story window at a drunken party, he paralyzed himself from the waist down. His drumming career had abruptly ended, but he went on to make one of the most lauded albums of his career ??Rock Bottom??.
The album is experimental and dense, but has a sweetness that grows on you with every listen. The album fluctuates between a melodic drones and builds you might associate with later groups such as Spacemen 3 or some of the shoegazers set.
This is one of those albums that I certainly didn't fall in love with right away, but over repeat listenings it enveloped me a little more each time, becoming a great album to listen to with headphones.
