image courtesy of Adam KofordFistula Spume beat me to the punch both purchasing and posting this little gem by the Marseille Figs It's rowdy, bawdy, good time music. Kind of like something you'd expect to hear in World War II movie, in a scene where the French resistance are meeting in a cabaret/night club.
Or perhaps it's a Waitsian Hobotopia, in which a three piece band is playing for their cronies by a campfire by the railroad tracks on instruments made out of tin cans, washboards and kazoo's.
There is just not enough irreverence and fun like this in music today. It's a kind of grass roots rethinking of pop music. Lots of Plunk, Clunk, Twee, and Spunk.
