NMKY - A Finnish Cover of "YMCA" that would make Tom proud...

I'm speechless after seeing this clip. It's just about everything I want from a YouTube video - weird? (check) from the seventies or early 80's? (check) Re- appropriation of American Pop Culture by another culture? (check). The background dancers would make Tom of Finland proud, though. The very fact that the singers name is Gregorius, makes me think of the word Gregarious. Yes, yes you are my friend. Enjoy.

  1. 1234chainsaw says Yeah, from a late '70s Finnish TV show. 'NMKY' is an abbreviation of the Finnish translation of 'YMCA'. I just read on the YLE (the Finnish BBC) web site that this was Gergorious's first and only TV appearance. Wonder why...
