I can't believe this will only be the second MOG post on Brownout (and I did the first), but here goes. Pretty happening new album drops this Tuesday. The funk is not as deep as I was hoping, but it offers alot - several nice horn arrangements, a few nice groovers, some jazz oriented cuts and then a few that head more toward the clave. Check it!

This cut is interesting (for me) 'cause the opening bass line is very reminiscent of some early Tribe Called Quest, then when the horns come in it brings back strong memories of the opnener (I think) from Chuck Brown's live album off several years ago, which was recorded at the 9:30 in DC.
