Earlier this week, I thought my love for Rilo Kiley couldn't grow any more. Then I saw them for the second time at the Rio, and now I'm more enamored than ever. My pictures turned out shitty, but I don't even care. The whole experience was amazing and I was in the front to experience it all. Blake looked a little annoyed and the Blake/Jenny playfulness was definitely lacking. The band said they really enjoyed Santa Cruz though, which is always nice to hear. For some reason, a lot of bands just focus on the negative and it's nice to be complimented once in a while.

I always get kind of bummed when I hear about bands playing the same exact setlist at each show. While most groups do it and I can totally understand why, it's just makes me feel like we're being cheated in a way.
Meh, maybe I should just buck up and enjoy the show...

It was my first time seeing RK live, at the Rio. And, I thought they were fantastic! We were in the front row, right in front of Jenny's mic (which made for quite an interesting view of Jenny's outfit). Since I haven't seen them previously, I can only add my interpretation, but...I would have to agree that Jenny and Blake did seem a bit annoyed with each other. Especially so when Blake jumped down in front of our row, and was playing amidst us (yup it was totally entertaining!), Jenny seemed sort of unhappy with him doing so....
But anyway, I think they really did like SC. When we met Jenny about an hour or two after the show I told her that they should really come back to SC again, and she said that they would. So hopefully they will! She was really sweet, said she couldn't take any pictures because she had already washed her face and brushed her teeth for bed! ;D

I'm so incredibly jealous that you got to meet her! I hope they do come back; I'm tired of driving to SF every time I want to see a good show.
