Ever since I came across this CD at Foyle's in London, I've been obssessed with it. It's so nice to discover for oneself something that no one else I know has heard of. Intelligent, melodic, and genre-defying stuff.
I can't say enough good things about these guys. It's rare that anyone can produce an entire album composed entirely of singalong-worthy tunes. I've only encountered a handful in my life.
The intro guitar solo boggles the mind. And Freddy Taylor's improv scats give the song such a nice, blithe touch. My favorite is "my pretty baby baba booo."
I love the drum pattern on this song; it's one of the most original things that I've heard in a long time. It borders on prog-rock but it doesn't distract the the non-music nerds. And the guitar parts are also intricate without being showy. Musical perfection.
