Exit Sandman...Enter James Joyce.

This is going to be a meandering little stream of consciousness, so try not to get lost...As I posted earlier, kcolizzle took me to a Yankees game yesterday as an early birthday present...One of the pitchers for the Yankees is Mike Myers...Michael Myers is the villan in the "Halloween" series of movies...Freddy Kruger is the villan in the "Friday the 13th" series of movies...Mike Myers (of the Yankees) actually pitched this past Friday, Friday the 13th...Mike Myers is also an actor...he was in a great movie called "So I Married an Axe Murderer"...one of the songs in the movie is "There She Goes" by the La's...On the soundtrack to the movie, there's also a version of the song by the Boo Radleys...Boo Radley is a character from the Harper Lee book "To Kill a Mockingbird"...one of Robert Duvall's first roles was that of Boo Radley in the film version of the book...The Boo Radleys were part of the "shoegazing movement", "named after the bands' motionless performing style, where they stood on stage and stared at the floor while they played" (allmusic.com)...other shoegazers included the Cocteau Twins, Lush, and, one of my personal favorites, Catherine Wheel...Rob Dickinson was the lead singer of Catherine Wheel...his cousin is none other than Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden...So from the Yankees to Iron Maiden with stops all along the way...

  1. Lord Alfreston says I sold a Catherine Wheel album to my brother in law recently but can't even remember what it was called. It had a brown cover though. Boo Radley's first album was a bit shoe gazey but their third Giant Steps is an out and out classic. Unfortunately I haven't heard that for about eight years. I sold the vinyl album to my damn brother in law as well. He sells them on e-bay. I bet he made a tidy sum from that one. Can't believe you've got a Railway Children track in your collection. I thought nobody even remembered them. I loved the A Native Place album (Guess who took that off me). One word of advice never sell your record collection because you're selling part of who you are!
