Artists You Should Know About

This song has been stuck in my head for days. Weeks. My whole life.
Anyway, my roommate's boyfriend is Brazilian, so I've been introduced to a whole slew of new things. This is one of my favorites. Sexy sexy Portuguese...
I realize that, not matter what I did, the Geri X music would not post last time. So here is another song, but the live version. Also, you can download a track from each of her albums from her website. See my last post for that detail.

Did you get my pun? Because I'm doing that alphabet thing again. This time I decided to introduce you to a rather local artist with a great live show and a down-to-earth appeal: Geri X. Some others I considered, but ultimately considered against were Green Day, Garbage, Gorillaz, and Gwen Stafani.
Geri X originally hails from Bulgaria, but she has since made her home in St. Pete, Florida and also in Wisconsin. The band of Geri X consists mostly of herself and her partner Greg Roteik, with occasional percussion by Anthony Zollo.
Her music can best be described as "passionate". Her saddest songs will give you goosebumps and her happiest will fill you with warmth. Though her speaking voice is a little deeper and raspier than you'd expect, her vocals on track are both soft and strong. Her lyrics are comparable to, well, life itself.
As for individual songs, it is hard to choose, but I will recommend (in addition to what I posted): "Bring On the Rain", "The Devil", "Astral Planes", "When I Die", "Double Cross Treachery", and the song that made me achingly fall in love with her: "Ghost"...just to get you started. Her website can be found at gerixmusic.com and her cds are like 5 bucks, so you should buy them. or, if you are cheap and/or would like to hear more before you buy, let me know and I will be happy to provide.

can't say i've heard it. what is it about the song that you love?
I would put up the mp3, but it is, sadly, trapped on my old computer.
I like this song because it's the heaviest light I've ever heard. her voice is amazing. it's as though she was made to sing the song. It's fun, without being novelty.
I'm going to continue trying to track down the mp3, otherwise it will just have to wait until the old laptop is salvageable.
