Do DJ Mixes Count?

Posted over 5 years ago
I was thinking of putting Coldcut's amazing DJ mix 70 minutes of madness in to the 501, but thought that it might get bounced as not being a 'real' album. So, I thought that I would make my own little list of the 10 best DJ mixes I've ever heard. I'd argue that any of these are just as good (innovative, exciting, etc..) as most of the stuff in the 501. What do you think?

  2. ciaran says To be honest I've since changed my mind as I have too many other albums I want to nominate (pitifully short attention span me). I do still think that they're just as good as a lot of "normal" albums....

  4. Arcadefunk says but 70 minutes of madness probably tops like 90 percent of the 501. ...anyways, anyone else into solidsteel radio? Throughout their archives of dj mixes there are some outstanding sets, especially by coldcut and the herbaliser. If you don't know the low down on solid steel radio, check it out. You can find it on Ninja Tune records site, or on totallyradio.com......every week there is a set of new mixes...and thru a membership on totally radio you can have access to several years of solid steel shows. AND, I would be curious to see some top 10 d.j. mix's from ya'll....I'm working on one right now to post. and that's all I know.

  5. ciaran says I used to listen to Solid Steel all the time on BBC LDN radio (but never seem to get the time these days). Big fan of The Herbaliser - he was a friend of a friend at university, although I won't even try to suggest that he would have a bloody clue who I am!
