WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Oasis b-sides are better than other people's a's....

Posted over 3 years ago
Oasis are releasing a best-off which contains a number of their classic b-sides as well as the more famous a-sides. Personally I think that more of their b-sides and album tracks should be on there, so here's my suggested tracklisting (and I couldn't keep it to 18 either!)Going Nowhere (from the Stand By Me EP)Fade Away (From the Help! Charity LP)Sad Song (From the Definitely Maybe LP - vinyl only)Listen Up (From the Cigarettes & Alcohol EP)Whatever (A-side of single of that name)D'Yer Wanna Be A Spaceman (From Shakermaker EP)Take Me Away (From Supersonic)Champagne Supernova (Taken from 2nd album, What's The Story..)Cigarettes & Alcohol (single & debut album track)Talk Tonight (From Some Might Say EP)[It's Good] To Be Free (From Whatever EP)Step Out (From Don't Look Back In Anger EP)I Am The Walrus (From Cigarettes & Alcohol EP)Wonderwall (Single & song on 2nd album)Angel Child [demo] (From D'You Know What I Mean EP)Live Forever (single and debut album track)Underneath The Sky (from Don't Look Back In Anger EP)Rockin' Chair (from Roll With It EP)Slide Away (taken from debut, Definitely Maybe)Phew! What do you think? In the meantime check out the great Lowry-esque video for the new Masterplan single. Notice how everyone has signature Lowry slumped shoulders - apart from Liam. Class!

  1. Terry Staunton says Interesting tracklisting, but I would have also found space for Round Are Way - can't remember which single it appeared on, but it's probably my favourite Oasis song. Either that or It's Getting Better, Man.

  2. ciaran says It's funny you mention that. Round Are Way (Wonderwall EP) was on the list until I realised it was spiralling out of control. Check out this classic version from the 90s music show The White Room. And whilst I didn't have It's Getting Better Man on the long list (although it would be on the long, long list, I did have It's Better People (Roll With It EP) - they don't sound much like each other, but they have very similar titles!

  3. lemontwist says I haven't listened to many of their b-sides. Actually, I haven't listened to much Oasis in a long while. They're one of those bands I tend to forget about and then rediscover at intervals. The only b-side I really know and dig is Fuckin' In The Bushes. Cool song.

  4. ciaran says Seriously - spend some time. Dig out The Masterplan collection. Put it on repeat. Enjoy!
