I talked about Storm Large singing “Anything, anything” by Dramarama in my last post. I had never heard this song before I heard it on Rockstar:Supernova. But, as soon as I heard it I decided to buy both her version and the original. This song is just great - I don’t know how I haven’t heard it once in the last 26 years. Anyway, it has me feeling all romantic and I wish I knew about it back when I got married because I so would have played it at my wedding. Here are the lyrics:Oh, gee, what is it tonight? At least just tell me what the hell is wrong,Do you want to eat, do you want to sleep, do you want to drown?Just settle down, settle down, settle down...I'll give you give candy, give you diamonds, give you pills,Give you anything you want, hundred dollar bills,I'll even let you watch the shows you want to see,Just marry me, marry me, marry me...I'm so sick of you tonight,You never stay awake when I get home,Is something wrong with me, something wrong with you?I really wish I knew, wish I knew, wish I knew...I'll give you candy, give you diamonds, give you pills,Give you anything you want, hundred dollar bills,I even let you watch the shows you want to see,Because you married me, married me, married me...When I was young I learned a game,Where love and happiness were the same,Now I'm older and I don't play,I found out the hardest way,I got wasted, she got mad, called me names and she called her dad,He got crazy and I did too, wondered what I did to you.I'll give you candy, give you diamonds, give you pills,Give you anything you want, hundred dollar bills,I even let you hear the songs I want to sing,I'll give you anything, anything, anything...I'll give you anything, anything, anythingIn her Rockstar performance Storm changed up some of the lyrics and I can’t decide whose I like better. Here are her changes:I go crazy and you do too-That’s why I’m so into you. This isn’t your run of the mill love song but it’s a love song nonetheless and that (in addition to the fact that the music just rocks) is why I like it. I don’t go in for love songs that are unrealistic. Love isn’t roses and backrubs, it’s farting and screaming and being bored and still caring about the other person anyway. In acknowledgement of that, to celebrate our vows, here are some of the songs we played at our wedding, almost 2 years ago after dating for 6 years:Johnny Cash – Ring of Fire (first dance)Misfits – SkullsConcrete Blonde – Bloodletting
