  3. watchbatteries says I heard this track on the radio while I was in Knoxville over the weekend and they blurred out: "porno" "dropping" "sober" "suicidal hate" "fucking"-makes sense

  4. Augusts1 says Is this what they call Emo? I like the first part but the chorus not so much.

  5. petenema says I picked up this album last July, and I dig it. Other good songs: You Make Me Smile, and Overweight. I wanted to photograph Blue October when they came through Toronto, but wasn't able to acquire the photo pass. :(

  7. Rawkkiddoh says I just saw a video by these guys this morning, and now this. You are going to have to tell me how the rest of the album is.

  8. chucky says Heath, they bleeped out "sober" .... haha. I'd bleep that out too. Heh. August, I don't think this qualifies as emo. I love the chorus, it's so gut wrenching. petenema, that sucks - judging by your other photos, they would have been awesome. Heath, indeed. I forgot to mention that. The story behind the song, and the band's name, make it all that more touching..if touching were the word I was looking for. Kev, it's good so far. I got through all but the last few tracks. It's all in the same vein. Very sad, but beautiful.

  9. Rawkkiddoh says I will have to give it a listen at the good ole Barnes and Nobel then. Thanks

  10. watchbatteries says I actually don't like this band or the song. In no way is it emo, it's just a final stab at alternative, even though there isn't a real alt band out there anymore, really. Personally, I think the song is a bit too much of the lead singer talking over the music, and just kinda throwing himself into it. It's more real than Fall Out Boy, though, Then again, I shit better lyrics than Pete Wentz. Sober? really?

  11. tybees says If that's a video you posted, I can't watch it cuz I think YouTube is down. Dag nab. I'll try to remember to re-visit this post tomorrow then :)

  12. mutterimieli says Great album, totally fell in love with it when I first got it last year, at the time it was one of the few bands that one of my best friends and I had in common. To go from Hate Me to Into The Ocean was bit of a shock but I really love Into The Ocean.

  13. Anna says I was in the middle of a proper comment, and then I noticed what Heath said, and now I'm irritated beyond belief. Anyways, I can see why you like it, Ash :)

  14. Nixne Svix says they have at least 4 albums and have been about sincethe mid 90's , I think. if thats the case , they deserve attention. but if they had been a one off boy band creation of some corporate record company , id be pissed....but they are better than most of the radio crap. i think everyone has had a radio moment with this song...

  15. Scarlett Echo says I love this Blue October album, minus "Hate Me". The contrast between "Hate Me" and "Into the Ocean" is amazing. I'd have never put the two songs together and guessed they came from the same band. I LOATHE the chorus in "Hate Me" but...I did catch the video the other night and I do have to admit, that the video worked wonders for making that song a little more palatable because the story behind the song was more compelling and far less "I'm so frickin emo I have to whine more"...

  16. fistula spume says Hrm... I don't really like the music but I really like the lyrics. You can hate me today.

  17. sam9muhr says I don't know what I would call this band, but there songs are really catchy and grow on me. I actually saw this band live for a radio festival and it was pretty cool.

  18. lostlines says Blue October's Foiled kept me company along with a bottle of grey goose during those cold and lonely nights. Overall, I enjoyed the album even though it left me feeling a bit depressed afterward.

  19. chucky says Kev, most definitely, you should. Heath, blah blah blah. ;) And yes sober. I know you don't go in for drinking, but I sure do. haha. Ty, damn. It's a really good video too. Jill, I'll have to pay closer attention to Into the Ocean next time I listen to it. Anna, :) Good stuff huh? Cam, yep. This is one of those bands that's getting alot of airtime but, in this case, I'd say it was deserved. Scarlett, I saw the video first. But, I am sure it's what got me interested in the song. If I had heard it on the radio first it's possible I would have dismissed it. Maybe. fistula, they're pretty intense. But, I'll pass on hating you today..haha. Sam, that's awesome. I think I'd just call them rock. Genres are so damn complicated..haha. lostlines, ha - yeah I could see being depressed after that album. The key is to be depressed already when you start listening to it...haha.

  20. cocolocoblondie says Blue October: I heard this song about a month after the album was released (I'm a dj and it was sent to me) and I thought it was a pretty good track, but that the band probaly had better stuff. Yeah, from the "foiled" album, Into the Ocean is a good, approachable track. From earlier albums see "razorblade", "independently happy", and one of my favorites, "Come in Closer". Make sure you listen to the last one all the way through before you judge it. If you like those, let me know and I'll recommend more.

  22. sierra121492 says I'm listening to that right now. I agree its amazing.
    Permalink posted 02/26/2007
  23. chucky says sierra, isn't it? It's even more so if you know the story behind the song. I don't want to fuck it up by telling it wrong, but if you don't know the story google it.
