I am completely under this man’s spell. I don’t really understand it, because usually music this mellow would have my skin crawling and my brain itchy. I do most of music listening in my car and I’m usually very angry in my car. Who isn’t? You have to battle idiots just to get to job that you hate on time. But, when one of his songs come on I literally feel all of my muscles relaxing. I will still flick off the guy next to me but I no longer feel the need to roll down the window and to scream curses on his progeny. I’ve already posted about my discovery of Amos Lee. How I heard Colors on a TV show and then the very next day at the end of a movie and took it as a sign that I should buy one of his albums. So, I went out and got Supply and Demand – his second album. It was magical.Awhile later I mentioned him again and Blair and I talked about him briefly. I said his voice put me at ease. Blair posted a song for me, Arms of a Woman. The very first line was “I am at ease in the arms of a woman.” To me, this was another sign. We both used the word “ease,” now just shut up – because I know you think that’s dumb for a sign. Well it isn’t, how many times do you use the word “ease?” Thought so.Blair posted the whole first album, Amos Lee, and after listening I went out and bought it the next day. And, oh, I am so glad I did. Because one thing that is missing from digital music is pictures. Turns out, Amos Lee is a fine, fine man. Just beautiful. Mmm, mmm, yum.Anyway, tonight I google him. Guess what? We both went to University of South Carolina at the same time. Who in hell goes to USC, except for me, Amos Lee, and those douches in Borat (who went much later than Amos and I)? I could have had him back then – damn! After I google him I go to youtube so I can post my favorite song of his, Southern Girl, for you. But, there’s no video for it. Instead, there’s him performing my second favorite Bill Wither’s song – Ain’t No Sunshine. To you coincidence, to me fate.I already have all my future husbands planned out, but Amos just got bumped to the head of the list. Sorry, Steve Martin. Le sigh, I am so in crush.
