YOU CAN'T NOT GET NO SATISFACTION

and this is why mog is as necessary as oxygen

When left to my own devices I normally trawl emusic for new stuff. I patiently click through and listen to a song or two of every album in the alt/punk category until I give up in frustration. That is exactly what I was doing tonight when I came across a song called “Sharks Are Fucked Up.” To my way of thinking, that had to, I mean *had to*, be a good song. But, it wasn’t. It was, in fact, a crappy song.On the other hand, it is damn near impossible getting through a night on mog without hearing something I have to have. So, this is a salute to you, my wonderful fellow moggers, for your diligent effort to fill my ipod with all kinds of awesome. And because I will have to upgrade soon, I also thank you on Steve Job’s account.Thank you:*Fistula* for Andrew Thompson’s We’re In Business, a few Alice in Wonderland songs, and a Dandi Wind song. (my husband, however, is not so much thankful as he is bewildered by my obsession with We’re In Business, heh.)*Dachmo* for the couple of Sharon Jones songs I’ve picked up.I don’t remember for Bat For Lashes. I also only dig a couple of their songs, but I dig those heavily.*Michelle* (I think?) for that Idan Rachel Project song.*Michael* for leading me to both versions of Is That All There Is?*Ngtivspace* for Vampire Weekend.*Kevin* for Dizzie Rascal. And …Out of all the songs I’ve been introduced to on mog I have two that vie for top honors:The Zookeeper's Boy – Mew, Dale got a lot of us with that one – thanks *Dale* :)I’d Rather Dance With You – Kings of Convenience, thank you *Echoes*. (I know you’re gone but thank you anyway.) Edit: Crap, I almost forgot - in the interests of mog love and me finding cool shit I missed the first time around: what is the best song you've discovered on mog? And who introduced you to it?

    And "You Bring Me Down"

I wish I could find a drummer like Steven Ansell. You can find the post here: http://mog.com/Anna/blog_post/82094

  3. Augusts1 says Ash, who did that "Sharks Are Fucked Up" song? Now you got my curiosity going, even though it's a crappy song I gotta know. I have to say that Dale EMCDed me with the new Black Rebel Motorcycle Club "Baby 81", as well as Cranes.

  5. Anna says Sigh. There isn't one MOGger who hasn't EMCD-ed a gorgeous song on me, it's impossible to list them all. Eternal gratitude to all. And aww I'm really glad you fancy Blood Red Shoes! (I just stumbled into It's Getting Boring... over at Daily Motion- gotta love accidental discoveries!)

  9. annieander says I have added much to my playlist as a result of mog. And in a way I am almost ashamed to admit I didn't know about these artists before. Most notably. Tobias Froberg - Moovyphreak Voxtrot - gerekriss (I think) Looper - rawkkiddo (anyone heard from him lately?) Badly Drawn Boy - satisfiedmind614 and I am with ivylander - has anyone heard from soulrocket lately too?

  12. SA says Gotta agree with Blood Red Shoes by Anna. I love the band. They are playing a festival along with The Rakes and The Wombats in Holland in November, and I sooooo hope a friend of mine can get free from work and can borrow her mom's car so we can go, because that would be wicked. I HAVE to see them, and if I have to sit through The Rakes, well, so be it... ;) (nah, just kid, love The Rakes, gonna be a party!) So everyone keep your fingers crossed, I will learn more this weekend. :P But it is only then that I can thank Anna for introducing me, because if I can't go, I will be so sad I wish I had never heard them. :P (nah, thanks Anna either way, I'll find a way to see them. ;)) And thanks to the rest of you because I know I have been introduced to many bands this way, it's just I forget sometimes that Mog did or, if I remember that, who did it. :)

  13. I am says News on Danny. He is ok. Got word today. Strapped for cash and looking for new employment. I quote, "No time, No time." or was it "Neu thyme, Neu thyme." his spelling is worst than mine.
