Catching up,as i am on the massive ("we did massive...we did massive") back catalogue ,and incredible output of Mr Jeff Beck..i see that this is/was one of his regular tunes..from the superb Curtis Mayfield of course..and taking the melodic duties away from the Strat' this time, the ultra-bluesy Joss Stone, a woman who belies her looks and upbringing with THE most sultry, bluesy soulful voice.. i must admit i can only take small doses, and this is just about enough. Could this woman sound any more bluesy? How much more bluesy could she sound? and the answer is ..none...none more bluesy..."
Band line-up: Jeff Beck guitar
Vinnie Colaiuta: Drums
Jason Rebello: keys
Tal Winkenfeld: Bass

This is such a great song no matter who does it, although I did like the Rod Stewart version better.
Thanks for the reminder. Joss Stone is wonderful to listen to, and, I imagine, to watch.
I can see where Jeff's coming from in his choice of Joss, but the talent difference between him and her is enormous. And not just because there's a 40 year age and experience gap - as much as I like her she's seriously outclassed in this grouping.
Well put Jonh. Jeff Beck, seems such a "diamond" that you just know that he meant well with this generous performance.
There's no denying that she has a fabulous voice, but after her toe-curlingly embarrassing interviews at the time of "Live 8", when she talked about "Bob Gandalf" and clearly had no idea at all about the Ethiopian famine, it's fair to say that she comes across as a bit "intellectually challenged". I therefore fear that she hasn't got a "Danny La Rue" what the song is actually about...
