"Ecstacy" may have been re-classified,but i never did say their name like that anyway..and they were the class "A" of 1978 ,for me along with "Talking Heads" ,spotty teenager that i was.I really dont hear anything as joyously "/punky/spunky" (ref/jon/savage/) out there at the moment...
why not try BLIP F.M. found it from ,dare i say it "Twitter"..which has gone completly NUTS in the U.K in the past couple of weeks..I'm not trying to virally take over the world with twenny thousand "followers" for "life-enhancing" motivational video, product promotion".So the novelty of "Twitter" may elude me soon ,but still good to check out .BlipF.M is still fun,you can have a bit of a dialogue with fellow blippers,a bit more "immediate" than MOG dare i say. The Blip catalogue seems pretty big. Found everything i wanted to "blip" this afternoon,Herbie Hancock to Jethro Tull to Kylie to Focus to XTC..whatever.
I see from the "White Music" page that this links to reveals that this, their first album was re-released in 2004 with extra tracks...

Weren't they also The Dukes Of The Stratosphere?
Yes, that's right dead ,but ,typically,by that time my neglect of the threads of my musical interests and general dilletantism meant i just didnt keep up,or pay much attention. I'm being too hard on myself,of course. The humour, musical and literary ideas crammed into the xtc songs, and the fact that they toured with "Talking Heads" got me into them and "Television" , i discovered Captain Beefheart,(even went to see him in London in 1980,on what turned out to be his last tour), Zappa and all points west. So i shouldnt dismiss them.
"Drums and Wires " was meant to be really good but i never did get it."Senses Working Overtime" was a memorable single. Original member Barry Andrews left in '79 and collaborated with Robert Fripp during 1980,in "The League Of Gentlemen"A line-up that also included Sara Lee,who became "The Gang Of Four"'s bass-player... I knew Andy Partridge used another name, but i couldnt remember it!..Time i checked out the "Dukes' "..stuff...cheers.
Remember seeing them around then at The Music Machine, which then became the Camden Palace and is now Koko. The keyboards fell over at least 3 times...
.
Thanks for the vid embed...vintage T.V. Peter Cook just about getting away with presenting himself as the weird uncle overseeing all that teenage angst.
I like your "GasMaskQueen" logo..did you get the "do it yourself kit"?..can't remember the name of the artist
