irony. i love it, okay? it probably keeps me going more than a balanced meal ever would.so a little pop culture tidbit i learned whilst in new york last week for a work thing:the U.S. booking agent who represented The Smiths, New Order and Echo and the Bunnymen in the early-mid 80s (when it counted) was also responsible for booking the Kenny G/Michael Bolton joint tour. This is funny for two reasons:1. Hipsters would probably be horrified by this revelation. Sorry, them's the berries! Where art & commerce meet, sometimes you have to work on bullshit so you will one day actually get the opportunity to work on non-bullshit.2. I think I'm lying on my MOG profile about my first concert and was actually taken to the G/Bolton supa-tour at a county or state fair in Oregon by my dad. Let's forget THAT ever happened. Geesh, thanks dad.
to erase the trauma incurred by 'Father With Bad Taste Syndrome' here's New Order live in 1985 doing Love Vigilantes.
I was lucky enough to see them play with Chemical Brothers in 2005 in a freaking gym in Oakland a couple days before their (much less fun) Coachella set. Life would be a lot more of a party if everywhere you went you got Bernard, Hooky, Ed and the rest of 'em. Wouldn't you agree? I guess the kids behind the bar plying us with refills of free beer didn't hurt either.
i hope that Control doesn't suck... but you know it kinda will.
