1:04 minute man

i love a band that can throw down an AWESOME song in the space of sixty-four seconds. Eamon Hamilton, who was previously a full time member in the SUBLIME British Sea Power started Brakes with two of the fellows from the equally sublime Electric Soft Paradethe guy is nuts - playing with BSP, he used to run through the crowd banging on a drum for a large chunk of the set. this doesn't sound all that impressive, until they started playing large venues. I watched him kill it up and down the aisles at the Shoreline Amphitheatres a couple of years ago. totally awesome.plus? Brakes had a 30 second song on their debut album "Give Blood" called Cheney, and i can't say i argue with their succinct messaging. see below.they also do an honorable cover of "Jackson" with the singer from The Duke Spirit (who i also adore), and here's a live performance from SXSW 2006 at the Urban Outfitters in Austin. YEAHHHHH, gotta stock up on my ironic tees while totally rocking out.
