Now, with Arab Strap having called it quits, I figured it was time to do just that. The recording was made to cassette and the show was loud, so the quality is far from perfect, but to my knowledge this recording has never previously been circulated. To top that off, a couple of the songs ("An Eventful Day" and "Motown Answers") have never been released on a full-length studio album.The line up included Adele Bethel (now of Sons and Daughters) as well as Aidan Moffat (now recording under the moniker L. Pierre, a fitting name considering the disambiguation of Arab Strap) and Malcolm Middleton.The Arab Strap website puts the date of the show at 06 August, but the label I made for my cassette says a day later. I did some hunting, and, according to the concert organizers, Arab Strap did indeed play on 07 August 1999. A few photos from the show are available here.Incidentally, I just found my ticket for the festival and was stunned to find the cost of a 3-day ticket was just 7,000 pesetas (about USD$55).
