Hey all! I have a great artist suggestion for all of you who enjoy indie music. Take you look at Vienna Teng and Alex Wong in some of the artists you've looked over. She's fabulous and she's toured with Shawn Colvin, India.Arie, Duncan Sheik and the Indigo Girls, but they seems to get overlooked by the blog scene.
Her vocals have the same calming effect as Tori Amos' music with its eclectic tone complimented perfectly by the soft piano accompaniment. It's very dreamlike. Actually, I remember reading a review in the San Francisco Chronicle that described her songs as "dream" like because they recall such powerful emotions. My new favorite song of hers is "Blue Caravan" from her new album The Moment Always Vanishing. The poignant lyrics contrasted with the soft cello, guitar and piano float just seem to float above me. Every time I hear it, I feel as if I'm in a dramatic sequence of a film.
