WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

such great heights

The Postal Service gives "such great heights" such a different feel than Iron and Wine does. It's originally by Iron and Wine. the lyrics are quite sad, which is the tone that Iron and Wine sings it in. But The Postal Service is known for its upbeat tempos, no one can stop ben gibbard and jimmy tamborello from making their amazing beats. Sad, slow songs that come their way won't phase them at all, give it to the postal service and VWALA! a whole new feel. i was watching on Fuse, The Sauce, the host was interviewing Adam Levine from Maroon 5 about their new album. And how the song "Makes Me Wonder" is sad, but they give it an upbeat tempo because it's different, and you expect happy tempo happy lyrics. but if you actually LISTEN to the song, the lyrics, they're sad. It's cool, a whole new way of approaching songs. It's a great way to get listeners interested into a sad song, which would normally be slow... which could get listeners uninterested. i find it actually quite intelligent... brilliant actually. brilliant.

  1. that1guy says Sorry yo, you got it backwards. Postal Service originally did Such Great Heights. The Iron and Wine version was released on the single for Such Great Heights before 'Give Up' was released. Even though I'm a die hard Iron & Wine fan, I agree that the original was better.

  2. that1guy says PS Forgot to mention that also on the Such Great Heights single was a cover of We Will Become Silhouettes done by The Shins. Again, the original was better.
