hell yeah- bonnaroo!

Posted almost 5 years ago
it's been a long time since i posted on mog... too long. but i decided that it's been too good of a spring break not to talk about it. i ended up going to four shows in the span of a week- kind of a record for me. first it was of montreal and mute math in boston (two separate concerts in different venues that happened to be next door to each other!), then someone still loves you boris yeltsin, the cinematics, and mute math again in philadelphia, and .moneen. & others at a church in boston. they were all fantastic, but seeing someone still loves you boris yeltsin was the highlight of all the concerts. they are all such nice guys and fantastic musicians. i ended up going out to dinner with them before their set and i had such a great time. they are the least rock stary rock stars i've ever met, which is a very good thing. i HIGHLY recommend picking up their album, "broom." i've collected about 30 other recordings they've done (some new songs, some live recordings). so if you'd like any of them, i'd be more than willing to email them to ya. i've also imbedded one below for your listening pleasure! it's called "half-awake (deb)" and it's from their forthcoming EP due out in late may.anyways, the next musical event i'm looking forward to is bonnaroo with my friend karen (who i've mentioned before is completely awesome). it's going to be the best road trip ever. we'll both have just graduated two weeks earlier so we'll be in total party mode after the last four hectic years... there are so many people i want to see at bonnaroo, i just hope they're not scheduled simultaneously! some highlights for me are The White Stripes, The Flaming Lips, The Decemberists, Wolfmother, Regina Spektor, Feist, Hot Chip, Cold War Kids, Dr. Dog, Martha Wainwright, MuteMath and the Kings of Leon. the first day of the festival is june 14, which just happens to be my 18th birthday. i'm notorious for having super awful birthdays, so i'm trying to reverse the curse on this one. in that spirit- does anybody have any good tips they've picked up from going to bonnaroo or any other related events? anything you can share would be greatly appreciated!happy easter!-charlotte

  1. Jack Still says I wanted to see SSLYBY so bad at south by southwest, but they only played like two shows, and I couldn't make it to either one.
