WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Brothers Of The Head

Posted over 3 years ago
This weekend I saw a really interesting and disturbing film called "Brothers of the Head." It tells the tale of conjoined twins Barry and Tom Howe who are plucked from obscurity in England during the 1970's by a music promoter who grooms them into a punk rock group (Bang Bang). Unsettling in so many ways, the film is depicted as a documentary infused with commentary from their sister and bandmates with foootage which shows the brothers learning to play guitar, etc... The music is excellent and the story is incredible but ultimately confusing because I still am unable to tell if the film is fiction or not. This is driving me crazy. Please help! If anyone knows anything about "Brothers of the Head," and/or Bang Bang please let me know! I have been google-ing the shit out of this to no avail...Regardless it is an awesome film that should not be missed fiction or non-fiction. Conjoined twins are sooo punk rock!

  1. champy says Thanks sugarbaby, that's what I figured, but I guess it was just really really well done because some of those scenes were very realistic. And the way that the people doing the commentary aged over the years was insane!

  7. Mike the Knife says Plus, to enhance value, "Brothers of the Head" features all-too-brief appearances by the great Jonathan Pryce ("Brazil") as well as the equally awesome Jane Horrocks of "Little Voice," "Life is Sweet" and "Ab Fab" (she was Bubble). And, as a bonus, outrageous director Ken Russell ("Tommy," "Altered States") has a cameo as himself.

  14. srharris says There's getting to be a whole sub-genre here. Twin Falls Idaho is also a fictional depiction of conjoined twins, played by real life (but NOT conjoined) twins Mark and Michael Polish. It's pretty good. I'll have to queue up Brothers of the Head.
