I recently received a CD from the Twin of Twins and it is some of the funniest stuff I have heard in a while. It is Reggae culture based comedy that takes on many popular Jamaican artists and current events.
Below are three different examples 1) Micheal Jackson - Does not need much explanation, they take it all the way and leave nothing out, 2) Yellow Man & the origins of Reggae - A phone interview w/ King Yellow that makes a couple of references to his loss of his jawbone due to cancer and finaly 3) Music Parody/Weird Al style music video - this includes references about Beenie Man's nuptials to Angel (the former girlfriend of Bounty Killa) and possible spousal abuse... Be warned, the language is not censored and they use profanity.
feating Micheal Jackson...

This is like Carlos Mencia for Jamaicans!
I love it.
Peace,
Kiaran

Greetings to the MOGmassive!
My postings and life have changed... My life got busy and my posting stopped.
I have been doing works with people that are dedicated to the upliftment of consciousness thru the promotion of music and positive environments. My long term goal is to provide support for artists/DJ's, educate people about the importance of these individuals/groups and bring them to a venue near you.
What I find is that the music is extremely well received within certain communities, but in the context of the musically diverse Bay Area it is hard to get folks to attend the events. I can't tell you how many shows I have been to recently that a top class, internationally known artist has performed for less than 100 people. The current theme that I hear is that people are looking for a new music that is different from what we are being fed through the various media outlets today.
I do not know that there is a solution, but I will keep doing what I do and create the type of situations that are conducive to those of you who care.
Give thanks for you time and thoughts.
Respect,
Kiaran

that was fun to watch. "sizzla - such an adventure" is featured at the beginning of the 3rd video, i dled a demo version (sounds slower) about 4 years ago, do you know when this tune was released, label, riddim,... i missed this one.
I looked around and found this thread...http://dancehallreggae.com/forum/archive/index.php?t-48100.html
It references two other tunes called "dig it out" and "cash in my pocket" on the same riddim. "dig it out" is from a Sizzla album called Brighter Day, so if you can find or have that album you could look at the liner notes and see who get the production credit.I have been told that Kalonji voices tunes 14 hours a day when he is @ Judgment Yard and releases many tunes that never make it to any albums.
You can also try Ernie B's online store, they are the best I have found.
Respect,
Kiaran
thanks for the info, man. this might be it...
listened the sizzla's tune on the Fully Loaded 2k4 cd... The sizzla's tune was also in the Renaissance - Sizzla Renaissance Version CD 2004 Sizzla made 3 tune pon dat riddim:
Sizzla - Cash In My Pocket Sizzla - Dig It Out Sizzla - Such An Adventure
thought the other 2 tunes were not too good. lots of tracks never get released on 7", my guess is that labels sound systems use it as a special before the track gets released.
yeah, ernie bs are massive.
big up,
danny
