Brushes with obscure greatness

So I was doing some miscellaneous googling the other day ... OK, I was doing a vanity search because it bugs me that there's another Chris Devine out there who's a musician, and who always comes in higher in the google search than I do. True, he used to play violin in Blackmore's Night, so I suppose he's justified. But still ...Anyway, I stumbled across this old calendar listing from the Honolulu Star-Bulletin. And I do mean old. It's from 1996, when Pete and Richard and I were essentially in residency at Java Java, which is still my favorite cafe ever, even though it no longer exists (it's a ramen house now ...
