I know you guys like to pretend you're the cool kids and you live and die by that much coveted indie credibility but don't you think you're taking it too far? Fleet Foxes?
I mean, I like Jim James' voice too (and Grizzly Bear's instrumentation) but choosing derivatives isn't going to make MMJ take back and re-record Evil Urges or make Grizzly Bear dump the Department of Eagles side project.

And did I not get that tweet about boring being the new interesting? Is the measure of an album's brilliance now how fast it makes you fall asleep? Yeah? Really?
In that case, I think Solitudes: The Tranquil Ocean may be in contention for the title.
Oh, wait, no I get it! You had Portishead at number 1 but Sub Pop henchmen grabbed your editor-in-chief by the short hairs and forced you to change it.

seems to be the trend is to bore people because i heard NPR saying their poll results showed people were leaning much more to the mellowed out stuff, which apparently there was a ton of this year.
