Right now, The Faint, because I just saw them. But lately I've been listening to Azure Ray, Damien Rice's 9 album, Brand New's The Devil And The God Are Raging Inside Me album, and Neil Young. Not sure if that helps any, none of it's real 'secret' haha.

i see you like the Beta band, so have you tried the Beta band singer (steve mason) other work, King biscuit time? or Black affair he is now known as. There's also the other Beta band members (John & Robin) who formed The Aliens along with Lone pigeon, the brother of King creosote. Richard Greentree the bass player of the Beta band formed the General & the Duchess Collins. you can find out about these bands here www.myspace.com/thebetaband .There's also Olo radio, an eclectic radio show from the Beta bands homeland, you can check the tracklistings and download the back catalouge here www.myspace.com/oloworms . happy hunting

Soul music. My fav right now is soul.
Al Green and Curtis Mayfield are the go-to guys. They'll sing your socks off.
But if you like to get really soulfunky, then I'd suggest Donny Hathaway.
Definitely find some Donny.
