I, and a few friends, went to the Atlanta Jazz Festival last night to see the Pete Escovedo Orchestra featuring Pete Escovedo and his daughter Sheila Escovedo aka Prince's buddy Sheila E. And, damn, can this lady ever throw a fit.Near the end of the show, she started a drum solo and began singing Prince's song "Kiss." Well, turns out that, despite the massive size of the audience, most people didn't know the words. Apparently this is enough to set her off, because she screamed at us, "What? You guys don't even know the words?" She then proceeded to comically beat the crap out of her drums for an extended period of time, and then she just ended the show.I guess that was our punishment for 80% of the crowd either not knowing or knowing but not bothering to sing the lyrics to "Kiss." The moral of the story is ... it's very easy to incur the wrath of Sheila E., and amusing, too.
