I used to be really into VOD, they lost me with the FBTD album, but how is Bloodsimple? I never gave em a shot. Is it just Tim from VOD?
Bloodsimple has Tim and Mike (guitarist) from VOD. I actually liked From Bliss, but it definitely was a completely different band at that point. Bloodsimple seems to be a continuation from that standpoint. It has better song structures and Tim expanded his vocal range a bit. Bloodsimple seems a little more mainstream, but not to the point of it being total crap. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that if VOD had continued to evolve its sound, it would sound like Bloodsimple today. I like it. It's at least worth checking out. They have two albums "A Cruel World" and "Red Harvest". "Straight Hate" is from the former and "Whiskey Bent And Hellbound (Hellmyr)" (my favorite from "Red Harvest") is from the latter.
